Excellent quality and value
I bought this jacket and the matching NEBULUS Softshell ski trousers (Q298). The quality is excellent, the fit is perfect, the garments look great and I am very pleased.
The softshell is top notch and lined with a mixture of thick fleece and membrane making it very warm and breathable.

Sizing : I am 5' 8" with a 44" chest and a 36" waist. The "Large" size in both items fits me like a glove. The jacket is fitted enough to be worn over just a base layer but with enough room for mid-layers if required.

Colour : In certain light (specifically under dichroic halogen lights) the black can look like a very dark brown particularly if you hold it up against something else black. In normal lighting conditions it is absolutely fine.

Warm, lightweight, waterproof
Given the price I paid, I was expecting this to be a mediocre item at best. I was pleasantly surprised - this is a quality jacket at a great price. It's surprisingly warm (windproof) - like wearing a thin jumper - and perfect for cycling. In the winter, I think this together with a jumper is all you'd need to keep warm without overheating.

I've worn it whilst cycling in persistent drizzle for 20 minutes and remained completely dry. It may not fare so well in a heavy downpour but we'll see.

There are lots of nice zip pockets and quality touches such as small reflective patches and double zips to adjust how open you want the jacket to be.

It looks good - nicely fitted.

The only downside is that it doesn't have a hood but I put on a waterproof cap so no problem there. Highly recommended.

good for up to half an hour in rain
got this in october 2010 and am very pleased with it - have worn it continuously through the winter - warm enough for the recent (very) cold weather, and smart enough to wear to the office, without having to bring an extra jacket. Good pockets, good zips under arms for more ventilation in summer. It will start letting in water though, after about 20mins-30mins of driving rain, so, if you're commute is longer than that probably not the most suitable, but overall a very good, versatile jacket.

Waterproof and warm
This jacket satisfies the two main requirements: it is waterproof and it is warm. The materials are good, it seems well-made and is comfortable to wear. It is a good entry-level coat. However, I have two criticisms. First, the hood does not have a peak. All things being equal, if you're going out in the rain, a slight peak on your hood is great and would be worth paying more for. I find I have to make the hood quite tight, too, so it does not blow off, making it more likely for water to come down your forehead. Two, there is only one relatively small interior pocket, which is barely big enough for a half-litre bottle and a chocolate bar. My previous coats of this type were both Peter Storm (RIP) and they both had two huge chest pockets and one had a peaked hood. Whatever a person's view on chest pockets (e.g. how they effect comfort, rain/wind-proofing), I definitely think a peaked hood is a must for any jacket of this type.

Ordered this jacket after trying a few other "waterproof" jackets that simply failed. So impressed with this one! Well-made, good quality, both windproof and waterproof. Used it on a camping trip in Wales where I knew it would be raining and it kept me dry and warm on a few occasions where it was gale-force winds and torrential downpours! Good quality zips throughout and adjustable velcro cuffs. The hood has adjustable ties to fit and the zipped pocket on the inside of the main body of the jacket is useful for mobile phones, MP3 players etc. I am a Size 10 and ordered a Size 10 which fits perfectly even with a sweater on. Would definitely recommend this Regatta Jacket!

Great waterproof jacket
Ordered as replacement for Regatta packaway mac which I had for years. This is not a packaway one but it is so lightweight it can easily be folded and put in a bag. Its great because its both windproof and waterproof and the hood can be folded away. Coat is of the usual good quality you would expect from Regatta and I would certainly recommend as a good buy.
