Excellent mid/outer layer from Scottish company
There's no need for a long review because this jacket works exactly as described. Wind proof, very warm, packs small, extremely practical.

I wear this under my motorcycle jacket and it is very warm but without the bulk you'd get from a normal fleece. I have also worn in for walking on the fells, and it's great as an outer layer too. Superb for stuffing in your rucksack and pulling out at rest stops, to stop you getting chilled.

You don't get fancy trendy logos and it is not festooned with velcro tabs, hem adjustments, etc. You get what you need and nowt else. Much the better for it, in my opinion.

Be aware the collar is tall and perhaps just a little thicker than it need be. You may like it like this, and it is certainly very warm (and it's great for motorcycling); but it is just sometimes a problem if you wear several layers and a shell on top and *all* of your layers have a high neck! This isn't a fault, but it's worth bearing in mind what...

Nice warm jacket
This jacket is well made and very warm. I am 6 foot four with a 42 inch chest, I purchased the extra large size and it fits me perfectly on top of a light fleece.

The only criticism I would make about this jacket is that the insulation is not secured across the body of the jacket with stitching like some others I have seen so if you were to machine wash it I suspect that the insulation would move around inside the jacket.

It is excellent value for money and very well fitting, for instance I can lift my arms without the whole jacket riding up.
