Exceptional quality, bought primarily for bike commute to work and i can atest to the windproof and waterproof properties both outstanding. I couldn't quite understand how a jacket could be windproof but this truly is my cycle to work is primarily downhill starting with a 200m drop over 1.6km so its a windy decent into work but with the leadville i really don't feel any wind at all on chest or arms (a strange sensation when ur face and legs are freezing). Living in the north west of ireland i've certainly gotten the chance to test its water proof properties and it is definatly that i got caught in a torrential downpour on the cycle home recently and found it worked perfectly i was bone dry and it takes me about 25min to get home. My only complaint was i found the sleeves a bit long i got the small and @ 5ft6in it was fine in length but the sleeves were about 1.5in too long regardless the velcro straps on the sleeves resolve this issue. Excellent walking jacket
This jacket is surprisingly light, well made and having worn it a couple of times on very blustery days on the cuts wind out remarkably well. It has little thermal insulation itself, but is very effective worn with a light fleece, cannot yet comment on water resistance, but do still carry a waterproof shell for storms

Super looks and comfort
I bought these for hiking. They are brilliant. Super comfy, fit well with stretch for comfort and looks.
Washed by hand in a sink and dried over night on a hanger whilst camping. Water resistant in the rain.
Sizes are American. I bought an 8 which is about a UK 14. A little on the large side if anything as the stretch gives extra room.
Will be purchasing another pair definately

Marmot Scree Pants
I bought these to replace an old pair of Marmot trousers which I had sadly ripped. Being American sizings, I was apprehensive about making the right choice, particularly as my last pair were simply labelled "M". So after looking at the Marmot website (which mainly goes by weight), I figured out I was probably a US Size 10. (I am an average UK 12-14, and 5ft 4).

When the trousers arrived, they fitted perfectly. There's an elasticated section at the back of the waist - which is high, so they fit well without feeling too tight. The bottom area feels and looks neat, but as the fabric has a lot of stretch they don't feel too tight or restrictive. The Scree pants can be bought in different leg lengths. I went for the medium because the legs are tapered, and when worn with walking boots they don't trail. Also the more length, the more give around the knees when climbing. The bottom of the leg has a handy zip for getting boots on and off, or wearing loosely.

Very comfortable, warm and lightweight
When I received this I was a bit disappointed to see how thin the material is. As I am planning to use thmem in Greece for Winter as well as summer spring I was afraid that I would be freezing with these trousers, finally I did put them to the test last week, went hiking and rockclimbing last week and with approximately 12 Degrees Celcius they actually felt quite warm, I was so pleasantly surprised. The material is almost spilproof, I dropped some coffee on the trousers and with a quick wipe with my hand the stain disappeared. Warm, comfortable and super to wear all year long, can't wait to use these in the summer and perhaps buy some more!

Do Marmot know about women's sizes?
I liked the look of these trousers as I am looking at buying some convertibles for a big multi day walk next year but had to stop myself from adding them to my basket when I read the size information. The maximum size they have is a UK size 12 and this is classed as XL!!! Have Marmot ever met a real woman? Do any outdoor manufacturers know that many female walkers are over a size 12. Sorry Marmot, I like your brand and I love that you use recycled and upcycled fabrics but get with the real world of women. The average woman in the UK is apparently a size 16 which by your sizing info would be something like an XXXL. Stop making average women feel like elephants!

Cosy
I'm very pleased with the coat. The fleecy lining in the upper body part and in the sleeves is great! Makes for a warm and cosy coat. Only downside is the hood, there isn't sufficient room and when I have the hood up I feel like I have to bend my neck. But the hood is detachable (and I can always wear a hat) so not a major issue. Happily the fur trim is also detachable. The COURIER Amazon chose to deliver the coat was TERRIBLE! Took 5 days longer than estimated, made all the more frustrating because from the online tracking tool I could see that it was being held at the courier's depot in the same city that I live in.

Great Black Down Jacket
I ordered this jacket through Amazon Marketplace - German company Rugasport. It arrived very quickly, think around 5 days and was well packaged - no problems. Emails are in German!

I've had a few down jackets over the years and I can honestly say this is the best one I've ever had! I wouldn't normally spend this amount on a coat, but it was definately worth it.

The quality is fantastic, fleece lined collar is lovely plus the cuffs, pockets and inner back. Feels so cosy it's unbelievable. I feel the hood is fine on myself, not tight in any way.

To give you some idea of sizing, I take a UK size 10/12 top, 34F and 5ft 2" tall. I had read that the jacket can be a bit tight across the chest giving the flattening effect. I chanced it and went for the Medium. It fits perfectly, it is very flattering in its shape unlike others I've previously owned which gave you the Michelin man look! Length wise it comes mid thigh on me which is what I was looking...

Yes i thoroughly rate the mid-weight base layer. OK- the bad news is i've only had it two days
so this isn't an indepth review at all.
The fabric, although mid-weight isn't really weighty at all and you really don't notice the fabric on your skin either.
I wanted to migrate away from merino wool product because i'm just too sensitive to the wool - even small amounts. This is
much less weight than my IceBreaker 260.
Sizing. I believe Marmot is an American brand because L (large) is for 42 / 45 inch chest. So even though im 41.5 inch chest, large fits me like the
man in the advert i.e a bit loose - and the arm lengths/ body length are too generous as well - again see the advert picture.
On the Marmot website there is a sizing chart - for my height, i fit large size mid way in the range - but again it looks exactly like the advert - just a bit too
long - but admit some folk may prefer to have a long body. Also, my left arm sleeve is 2cm longer than...

How to please your wife!
Well, I don't make a habit of this, but the purchase of this coat is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best purchases I have made.

My wife and I have been looking for a long quilted coat for over a month. We have, naturally, looked at the North Face Arctic Parka as one of the best units on the market. As the fellas version was something I had to purchase before deploying to the Antarctic, I know how good North Face is. I did not think anything could better such 'Arctic kit' in extremely cold environments.

How wrong I was!

I do alot of navigation work on Dartmoor... you know, where the rain goes sideways and the snow falls first! I have been a fan of Marmot as a very high quality manufacturer of high grade Gore-tex products - they have never let me down.

Once again this long coat lives up to the high build quality typical of Marmot.

So what's so good about it? ....and should you buy this over the North Face comparible...

Fantastic coat but don't order up a size if you're slim
This is a lovely coat, I'm really impressed, but I just wanted to warn people not to order up a size if they're slim on top. I read all the reviews saying it's tight on top that it's best to go up a size, so I got a large and it is huge on me. Sleeves too long, coat reaches past my knees, and the top is very baggy. I'm 168cm tall (5 foot 6 inches), wear a 10-12 top and a 12-14 bottom, if that helps. Should have got a medium...
